I was looking for new and interesting things to do in Jakarta when I came across an article about climbing at Pasar Festival in Jakarta Java Kini magazine and it had Panji’s contact details. So I made appointment with him and came climbing with few of my friends from English First. It was fun and pretty challenging and I have been practicing every week since February 2008.
The carabiner is a piece of equipment that is widely used in sports requiring ropework such as climbing and slacklining. It’s a metal loop with sprung or screwed gate. There are 2 categories of carabiner used in climbing, non-locking and locking. When sold for climbing, carabiner must conform to standard EN12275:1998 ‘Mountaineering equipment – connectors – safety requirements and test methods’ which govern testing protocols, rated strength, and marking. The night before April 19th 2008, I sent text to Boy, Jeane, Dave, Emma, Yoga, Riki and Rico to be at PasFes (Pasar Festival) - Kuningan at 6.30am the next morning for our climbing trip to Citatah, Padalarang – West Java. Riki Kiswani(18),3rd of 5 sibling,is a young climber who can be categorized as one of Indonesian’s top junior climber. He was introduced to climbing by his friend Riko in 2005. He is very enthusiastic about becoming the climber in indonesia. Everydat after school he practices his climbing. Early November,our climber Deka and Panji got an offfer from Toyota Building Management. Toyota had a problem to clean up their high-rise building specially the logo. Located at Sunter with about 30 m high,and the weather during that time was windy,cloudy and even worse,heavy rain.
